Seppuku Pistols, also known as Edo First Unit
Known for their elusive performances of traditional Japanese instruments, they captivate crowds of all ages and backgrounds in all kinds of locations: mountains, seas, town revitalization events, festivals, live music venues, demonstrations, shrines and temples, elementary schools, nursing homes, and more. Each member also engages in their own daily activities, such as folklore research and agriculture, commerce, and trade (making sandals, coin purses, work clothes, designs, carpentry, and shakuhachi instruction). They call themselves "the remnants of the Japanese wolf" and are commonly known as "Yakamashi Hayashi" (Noisy Festival Music). Following recent appearances in NYC, Chicago, Dubai, London, Paris Fashion Week, and Malaysia, a European tour is scheduled for July of this year.
