Taiji Sato (Director of Theater Brook and THE SOLAR BUDOKAN)
Originally from Tokushima Prefecture. Representing Japan as a guitarist and vocalist.
He is the organizer of "THE SOLAR BUDOKAN (since 2012)," a rock festival powered by solar energy systems. A rare, bushy-haired figure who leads the Japanese music and renewable energy industries. "Rock star" and "Funky Chief Executive" are his catchphrases. In 1986, he formed Theater Brook. In 1991, he was the opening act for Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 1995, he debuted with EPIC. His song "Arittake no Ai" (All the Love I Have) was heavily rotated on major FM stations such as J-WAVE and FM802. Singing this song about the love of the sun was the source of the idea for "THE SOLAR BUDOKAN."
The theme song "Uragiri no Yuuyake" from the anime "Durarara!!," released in 2010, reached number 6 on the Oricon charts.
Theater Brook is currently in the midst of recording!
The radio program "Love On Music" on inter FM, which started in 2014, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
Each time, we'll have a two-song session with a guest!
In 2020, he formed the funk duo ComplianS with bass hero KenKen.
The long-awaited and momentous 1st album "GLOBAL COMPLIANCE" has been released.
As a composer and music producer, he has provided songs for artists such as CHEMISTRY, Leyona, Mika Nakashima, Rabbit (a band unit with Ai Otsuka), Aki Toyosaki, and Maia Barouh, and has also provided and produced songs for Atsushi Sakurai (BUCK-TICK), MCU (KICK THE CAN CREW), Mariko Ide, THE King ALL STARS (a band centered around Yuzo Kayama), and Droog, as well as producing for Kiyoharu and tobaccojuice.
In addition, the club-style unit "The SunPaulo" was formed in 2000.
TAIJI at THE BONNET was formed in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The monthly event "LIVE FOR NIPPON" started around the same time.
Furthermore, the collaboration with Koenji Awa Odori, "Sato Taiji & Kasumi Ren," is a grand project that marks a turning point in the history of Japanese music.
With the cooperation of Minna Denryoku, we opened the "Taiji Solar Power Plant" using solar sharing.
Taiji Sato is undoubtedly Japan's representative rock star!
