★Event photo report: A total of approximately 200,000 people attended over five days! Thank you for coming!
Last October 2023, this event was held until 10pm, a first for Yoyogi Park, with the theme of "Tokyo x Asia Night Market."
This will be the second event and will be held for five days from May 22nd to 26th at the same venue, Yoyogi Park's Zelkova Avenue.
With each passing day, more and more visitors, including repeat visitors from the first event and those who found out through social media and word of mouth, flocked to the event, enjoying the music, art and market.
Once you pass through the iconic entrance gate, you'll see a street performance! Turn around and you'll see three art booths, and your journey to the moonlit outdoor art festival begins.
The art booths were lined with interesting booths filled with a live feeling, including an art exhibition by "Birucho kuu x Niizato Takuji" that combined paintings with flowers, a live painting gallery curated by actor and model Ohara Kaiki (ein), and a show tent by the Tokyo Engeki Club, where spectators could peek through several holes to complete the show.
The night market is reminiscent of the traditional Japanese culture of festivals and is likely to be experienced by those who have traveled to Southeast Asia. Seven stores are participating, selling colorful miscellaneous goods purchased in Thailand and offering henna tattoos on the spot.
"Megumi Kitchen Car" is a baked xiaolongbao dumpling that is made fresh every day by a local craftsman, and ""Ramen Gonokami Seisakusho", "Bun Tacos" that can be eaten with one hand, which was also popular last time,The food court will be packed with 43 stores, double the number from the first event, including Dan Dan Dan, a restaurant specializing in dry dandan noodles, and Udagawa Khao Man Gai, giving you the feeling of an Asian night market.
A DJ booth will appear between the food courts.
This event brings together 10 music bars and clubs that liven up the nightlife culture in Shibuya and Shimokitazawa every day.
Everyone was swaying their bodies and enjoying the open space to the fullest.
As the event finally reached its final destination, the live stage, a lineup of artists from across genres, from young to veteran, welcomed the audience to the final stop of the event. During a special performance by Maekawa Shingo (Kariyushi 58) and the stage by folk song unit Koderani, a Bon Odori circle was formed at the initiative of the artists, allowing overseas tourists to enjoy the "Japanese festival."
On the second and third days, there will be hot idol stages by Club Malcolm featuring "Yurumerumo!", "BELLRING Girls Heart", and "Tokyo Psycho-Pass".
Enthusiastic fans flocked to the event, and even though it was a weekday, word got around and the number of visitors increased day by day.
By the fourth day of the weekend, the place was bustling from the time it opened at 12 o'clock.
The closing headliner for the five-day live stage, which will feature a total of 22 acts, will be Eclipse Natsuko, who celebrates her 15th anniversary since her debut this year.
The band started with their signature song "Water Flow Rock," and a large audience gathered one after another, and as the stage drew to a close, they performed a surprise collaboration with "LA SEÑAS," which they had requested last year, for the final number, "Logmarope." The crowd erupted in cheers.
On the final day, many were reluctant to part ways, but the Shibuya night market, now one of Japan's most iconic landmark cities, was packed with entertainment, including performances by street performers, a karaoke booth at "The Closet," and a closing performance at an art gallery. A total of approximately 200,000 people visited the market over the five days, and the event was packed with entertainment until 10pm every day.
