CHiLi Girls
It was launched in 2020 as a "talent-involving project" by Shinomai Kawashima, a traditional performing artist and shamisen player. Her oriental pop lyrics and compositions have attracted attention both in Japan and overseas, captivating listeners with her outstanding technique, sense of groove, and lustrous, soulful singing voice.
With the participation of such cutting-edge artists as Reiji Okui (ex. Cymbals, TWEEDEES), Sara Wakui, Sho Kurashina (GOOD BYE APRIL), Genshi Miyano, and MPC GIRL USAGI, the band continues to boldly push the boundaries of genres both in Japan and overseas. They have held two self-planned performances at Shibuya WWW, and performed with Kohmi Hirose at "HandMade in Japan" (Tokyo Big Sight) and Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall. From April 2024, they will be in charge of the theme song for the FM NACK5 morning program.
As Kawashima Shinomai, she won the Tsugaru Shamisen National Championship four times before entering Tokyo University of the Arts. From an early age, she has performed overseas and appeared in the media, and is currently active in a wide range of fields, including participating in Kobayashi Sachiko's backing band at Saitama Super Arena, arranging and performing in the new kabuki play "Ryuu Shiranami Sansei (Lupin the Third)," and appearing on Nippon Television's "Waratte Koraete!".
